And again today we were treated to a surf fest to write home about,Swell dropped a touch early then rose back to around the 5-6ft range from a NE direction.Wind was light early then became a medium to strong offshore through the middle part of the day and was light again in the evening.Crowd was similar also having spells of 2-6 surfers with the heaviest being up to 20 during the mid morning.Synopsis: Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao. At 2:00 PM today, typhoon with international name "PHANFONE" was located at 1,580 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon (19.7°N, 138.2°E), with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 20 kph. Forecast: The regions of Bicol, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, CARAGA and ARMM and the provinces of Quezon, Rizal, Samar, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and North Cotabato will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over the eastern section of Luzon and coming from the west and southwest over the eastern section of Visayas and of Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to northwest over the rest of Luzon and coming from the southwest over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.
