Tropical Storm BANYAN (RAMON/23W) 6AM Oct 12: 10.2N 123.5E 65 kph WNW @ 31 kph Negros-S.Panay has passed us by and Sadly didn't give us the early predicted swell of up to 17ft.But on the good side it wasn't intense enough to reap any real damage on Siargao also.The swell picked up to 4-5ft yesterday afternoon but was of very short period and from the east so not a really good direction for cloud 9.Ironically the next break quicksilver was giving better barrels.Today we woke early to pure glass and no wind which was great but the increase in swell never came as it was 4ft with the occasional 5fter coming through and the period was still short and the direction still east.Wind turned onshore around 9am.Crowd around 8 mostly boardboarders as the stand ups stayed at quiksilver getting the straighter barrels.Are you planning a holiday or surf trip in siargao? if you are looking for a very affordable, clean and safe accommodation near at cloud 9, http://www.ocean101cloud9.com for the latest update of cloud 9 surf report please click HOME at the bottom

As we wait in exspectation of the arrival of Tropical Depression 23W (RAMON) 6AM Oct 11: 7.9N 129.2E 55 kph WNW @ 19 kph Surigao-Leyte hoping for a nice swell.This system sadly looks like it's just going to slam into us and give us mess,but ce la vi la vi"what will be Will be",hopefully it isn't too severe .This morning their have been many people looking but not surfing,swell is a disorganized 2-3ft.Wind has been swinging around all morning.Crowd now at 4.

The swell has even dropped a little to 1 ft.Wind has stayed in the west all morning.And the crowd has varied between 6-10 most of the morning.Todays picture took me a little while to choose as this 1 with west oz Reece walking in with a unridden cloud 9 wave in the background is very visably appealing but a little bit deceptive as the other 2 that i was contemplating where more accurate with a surfer going in each direction and 6 others visible and another walking out.

The swell is about 2ft and sadly is still very uneven.Wind and rain storm have been coming through the morning so are all over the shop,offshore onshore crossshore but now it's back to offshore.Crowd has been the same as the wind,up and down Dave Reardon Smith just told me that he was lucky enough 2 score uneven clowd 9 on his own for about an hr this morning,then it escalated up to around 20 but was back to 10 at 1pm.

Sadly the swell dropped today to about 2ft.Early the cloud 9 bay was glassy with the low tide and on rumours of good wave at rock island i headed out there with my nephew cody,sadly it was a bit dissappionting even with the dead low tide even before the crowd of 10+ arrived but the swell was straight and smooth,the only thing that spoilt it was 1 french retard that had no concept of surfing etiquette and paddled directly in front of us and sat there on a longboard and continued to do so even after being given the word.But back to cloud 9 when we came back i went around to the 9 and was really suprised of the joggle in the ocean as soon as i hit jacking horse,and talking with 2 pro juniors that are staying at 101 until tommorow that where int he water with 6 locals at the most it had been uneven all morning so i had 2 waves in 10 minutes which was a slight pleasure in itself as the crowds have been heavy and left,they told me it straighted up as i got in my boat and wasn't 2 bad for the next 30 minutes.

Swell stayed of a similar height of around 3ft,i was told it pushed i lttle bit bigger in the afternoon.Wind stayed offshore all day just the strength varied from light to medium.Crowd did the same also going from about 10 to 40 later in the afternoon.
